Passion Project

Bouncing between a few different projects right now. Still steadily working on the official website for my podcast “Sorry We’re Late”. However, I’m also working on a new JavaScript Match game. I am a crazed Kingdom Hearts fan and with the 20th anniversary approaching next year I am attempting to make some KH themed fan games. So this match game is going to be Kingdom Hearts centric. I’ve done a match game in the past but I want to up my game on this attempt. More levels, more music, more style, and more functionality.

The project is still in its infancy but I’m very excited to work further on it. It has allowed me to work on my photoshop skills as well as my coding skills as well.

Card Back

These cards that I’m using for the game are pulled straight out of one of the titles “chain of memories”. I edited the original card front with scenes from the games.

For the first match game I created I used plain vanilla JavaScript but for the new game I’m going to use React, Redux and Node. The original project also didn’t have a backend API so that will also be added in this new project.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for coding, between switching career fields, preparation for my daughters second birthday, and working. My time and energy for coding has been at a little bit of a low. But I think this passion project is the thing that will get me back on track. I’m super excited for it and can’t wait to update the progress of it in the future.
